Road Construction (terrazyme –Road King Mixer)

site-highway-renewal-construction-work

Terrazyme is a soil stabilization product that dramatically enhances road quality and thus reduces maintenance costs, and its exclusive agency in Afghanistan is with ADBC (Arghand Diligent Brighters Company). Terrazyme is a natural, non-toxic, liquid enzyme formulation that alters the physical and chemical features of soil. This enzymatic process Improves the engineering qualities in the soil facilitating higher compaction densities and increasing the soil stability through closer bonding of particles. When terrazyme is added to soil, it catalyzes the breakdown of organic materials and increases the wetting and bonding capacity of the soil particles. It allows soil materials to become more easily wet and more densely compacted. Also, it improved chemical bonding helps to fuse the soil particles together, creating a morepermanent structure that is more resistant to weathering, wear and water penetration. Road compaction requires less mechanical effort. Terrazyme is available in two formulations:
– TZ for most common soil stabilization application
– TZ-A for soil with high clay content
The concept of enzyme stabilization: Enzyme stabilization is commonly demonstrated by termites and ants in Latin America, Africa and Asia. “Ant saliva”, full of enzymes, is used to build soil structures which are rock hard and meters high. These structures are known to stand firm despite heavy tropical rainseasons.

Why we have chosen Road Construction???

Because we are facing plenty of problem in this sector here in Afghanistan Roads are the arteries through which the economy pulses. By linking producers to marketers, workers to jobs, students to schools, and the sick to hospitals, roads are vital to any development agenda. Since 2002, the World Bank has constructed or rehabilitated more than 260,000 km of roads. It lends more for roads than for education, health, and social services combined. However, while roads bring economic and social benefits, they can also come with social costs such as pollution or deforestation. The Amazon rainforest is crisscrossed by almost 100,000 km of roads – enough to circle the earth two and a half times. And the transport sector accounts for about 23% of global energy-related carbon dioxide emissions and significant share of local particle pollution. Such tradeoffs need to be weighed when planning any intervention.

Economic Impact

Road construction is a vital component in creating jobs. Almost 65% of directly job creation form transportation investment occurs in road construction industry. And as we spent on infrastructure that benefits our country, we are able to create jobs for our countrymen too. As well as studies have shown every dollar invested in this sector yields double the profit. More than millions hour stuck in traffic – that’s far more we care to spend. Which causes around billions loss annually in time fuel. A 1$ investment in infrastructure returns more than triple this amount in economic activities. Poorly maintained roads also lead to increased vehicle maintenance costs. It is estimated that the yearly cost increase for each vehicle owner due to poorly maintained roads is over $1000.

Weaknesses

A massive cost but weak results. we are spending a massive amount of money on road construction but no outstanding result is seen up to now, almost all roads built in Afghanistan can’t stand out more than 6 months or a year, that’s due to lack of technologies and experience, these are the critical points that must be considered into account while working in these sectors, and unfortunately the same amount of money is spend every year on the same point and it’s just a loss and no progress and benefits at all. That is why we want to work in this sector and have our vision towards it, and are ready to work privately or as a partner with
other leading companies who have the same vision for development and progress of our country Afghanistan.

Safety

Billions of dollars and 4,000 fatalities – this is the cost of our crumbling transportation infrastructure. Almost all of our roads are waiting for funds. Seventy percent of the most-used roads and highways are in poor-condition.
